I’ve been on the search for the perfect puffer coat for nearly three years.
Guess what? I found it….thanks to Ms. Meg Burns.
This puffer from Moosejaw met all my criteria:
Super warm (650 goose down power fill)
Fitted (I still wanted a nice shape)
Lightweight/thin
Hood
Not too long, not too short (I’m 5’6)
Affordable (in fact, this jacket is quite inexpensive - i.e. less than $200!)
Added bonuses?
Really cute ribbed cuffs/mini gloves with thumbholes (this was my lifesaver yesterday!)
Fleece-lined pockets
A headphone port for talking/listening to music on the go
Need any more proof? Check out the customer reviews here (everyone gave it a perfect score).

Remember the David Yurman Fall 2012 Campaign video I mentioned here?

If you don’t believe me that it’s stunning, watch it for yourself now.

P.S. Fun fact: Giselle was actually pregnant during the taping of this back in May.

If you’ve been reading here for awhile, you’ll know that one of my clients is David Yurman.

The classic American jewelry brand hosts an annual Summer Soiree on their Tribeca rooftop for family and friends.  The best guest? The sweeping views of downtown Manhattan.  Although rain made a brief appearance, the rest of the evening featured a hauntingly beautiful sunset.

The highlight of the night was surely the Yurmans presentation of their Fall 2012 Campaign Video, featuring a Giselle Bündchen.  I know they’re my client and all, but wow - the campaign is stunning! If you’re interested in seeing it, head over to Facebook.com/DavidYurman, where my team shared the video live from the event.  And check out the picture above of the lovebirds cuddling while watching their masterpiece.

To be truly transparent, the best part about going to client events now is not having to “manage” the event. This was my least favorite part of working in PR. Working in  social media marketing, I get to truly enjoy the event, making sure things go up on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, etc. Still stressful (you can only imagine), but much better than worrying about if a socialite shows up or not.

And of course, nothing would have happened if it wasn’t for my stellar team - I’M LOOKING AT YOU AJA, LUCIE AND MEG!

If you’re interested, check out last year’s event here.

Last Thursday was just like any other Thursday.  And by Thursday, I mean “dream Thursdays”.

I joined friends Lucie and Blair on upper 5th Avenue at the impeccably stylish home of Hunter Boot CEO, Wendy Svarre.

Wendy, who’s impressive resume includes a decade at Chanel, hosted us for a British-themed evening of Pimms Cups, a nod to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and a top-tier  UK-inspired playlist.  Not only was she so warm, welcoming and inspiring, but her apartment, including mesmerizing hallway details and mini gilded picture frames in the bathroom, is what my New York dream are made of….

I told her she must post detailed decor shots on her new Pinterest page - I, for one, would re-pin them x100!

I left the evening dreaming of a long weekend in the English countryside and their Equestrian-inspired Regent Carlyle Milk Chocolate boot, a pair I know will get frequent use come Fall.

Situation: I’m contemplating a one-piece bathing suit for my upcoming trip to Greece. I particularly like this plunging neckline “Halter Bill” from Norma Kamali.
Concern: I haven’t worn a one-piece since I was 11.  Is it sexy or a snooze?
I leave it to you.
Yay or Nay?

Taking a cue from Julie, I ordered a pair of Fibi & Clo Smoke Cascade Sandals.
They arrived last night and, just like Julie, I’m obsessed and know they will be my summer shoe staple.
Comfortable, unique and super affordable ($45!)
Me thinks I need the Gold Cascade pair, too.

Barney’s Fashion Director, Amanda Brooks, has decided to finally leave New York City for the country.
Why?
Because of Ree Drummond, mouther of four who lives on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma, and her blog, The Pioneer Woman.  According to Brooks, “It’s the idea of having a career on your own terms, anywhere.”
Very inspiring, although maybe not the easiest or even remotely practical feat to achieve.

Just like magic, when Karmela at John Sahag Workshop gives me a haircut, my hair manages to look longer afterward.
How is this possible?
This girl is good.  Really good.
Check out the before and after.
What was lifeless and dull before transformed into fresh, full and va-va-voom! And most importantly, still long!
Needless to say, Karmela knows how to make a girl walk out feeling like Bardot.

Since I work in social media, clients consistently ask for a “big idea”, a “game changer”. For Fashion Week, my team delivered.
My client, DVF, is the first fashion brand to kick off the introduction of Viddy’s new Facebook Application (which doesn’t launch until February 28th) to stage a near-live, behind-the-scenes customized Facebook experience during New York Fashion Week and at DVF’s Fall 2012 Collection.
This kind of experience offers DVF’s fans an exclusive 360 insight into how the brand prepares for and executes NYFW.
Mashable spotlighted our campaign, saying:
"Staffers from DVF and its social media marketing agency will be using the iPhone app, which is often described as “Instagram for video,” to shoot 15- to 30-second clips that will populate a designated tab on DVF’s Facebook page. Videos, the first of which will be posted Wednesday, will include backstage interviews with Furstenberg and her creative team, model castings, hair and makeup runthroughs, as well as shots of looks as they go down the runway.”
Check out DVF’s NYFW Facebook Tab here and make sure to check back often during the show this Sunday!

Each week, Racked.com posts "Working It", a feature spotlighting how people in the fashion industry dress at work.
The most recent edition includes my company, Attention USA.  I’ve got a bit of the “deer in headlights” thing going on, but I’m definitely representing as the non-edgy/non-trendy person in the office.
Check it out!

Last week I attended the Barney’s CO-OP opening.

Even better than the psychics and mini PB + J’s were The Bumby’s, a mysterious duo who type up a “fair and honest appraisal of your appearance”.

They basically told me I wasn’t edgy/wearing enough black to be at Barney’s.

Sounds about right.
