Painting and Boozing

Let’s be clear - I’m not artistic. I’ve taken a couple art classes over the years, but frankly, I’m just not very creative. With that said, some friends and I decided to give Paint Along a try.

Located in Murray Hill, Paint Along is a 2-hour class that provides you with all the art essentials and basic instructions needed to re-create a 16 x 20” canvas of “art”.  They are also fully BYOB, which I found to be the actual “art essential” since all our talents vastly improved once we were a couple glasses in. 

We went with the bike basket filled with flowers (although our first choice was the Picasso Starry Night class) and based on the teacher’s instruction, ended up with very similar, fairly successful paintings.

Unfortunately, the instructor didn’t really follow the actual painting (ahem - what is that HUGE blank in the middle? Why are the red flowers just hanging there?)  

With that said, I would absolutely do this class again, if for nothing else than to be able to sign my name on a piece of “art”.
