Friends in Far Places

Someone recently told me, rather alarmingly, “You and your friends travel a lot to see each other”.

Not that I needed to defend myself, but I simply stated that my close friends are an extension of my family and that “family” and travel are top priorities in my life.

Sure, from a frequency standpoint, I’d be thrilled for everyone to live in Manhattan; however, I find it pretty spectacular that some of my best friends live in Montreal, London, Miami, Chicago, DC and now, San Diego, and as a result, I get to visit them.

As years go by and life evolves from childhood to college, questionable 23-year-old behavior and career beginnings, grad school and proposals, career successes and new cities, I feel privileged to have this coast-to-coast, global foundation of whip-smart, spunky ladies to call my own.

Speaking on San Diego, Courtney is spending the summer before her 3rd year of Law School interning in San Diego. So what did Jordan and I do? We headed to the west coast for a long weekend, naturally.

We kicked off the weekend with lunch at Lucha Libre Taco Shop (known for their Surfin’ Burritos), followed by an afternoon at Orfila Vineyards

The rest of the weekend included Pacific Ocean sunsets.

Finding our inner 6 year-old and climbing trees.

Sporting wet suits.

And playing with a group of adorable/lazy seals.

We waited for the morning fog to burn off before hitting Mission + Coronado Beaches.

Chowed down on daily fish tacos.

And, as always, painted the town red.
