I know you’re supposed to get regular haircut/trims with long hair, but I subscribe to the philosophy that these frequent trims tend to stop the growth process and cut hair shorter and shorter. Or at least most haircut experiences have led me to this belief and I leave salons whimpering like an abused puppy.
Until now.
Two weeks ago I entered Madison Avenue salon, John Sahag Workshop, where I tried a “dry” haircut from Karmela, a real-life Zooey Deschanel.
I walked in with straggly, dull locks (it had been 3 months since color, 5 months since a cut. Shameful.)

And had my hair straightened in preparation for the cut. It was dead-end central.

Karmela went to work, reassuring me that she would just give me a “dusting” and that my hair would actually end up looking longer. I didn’t believe her, but was thrilled when I was proven wrong.
Then I moved over to Doug’s chair for a dose of blond. We started with traditional foil highlights, followed by Balayage where Doug painted on select highlights for an extra POW. For reference, I requested “cool tone” blond and got exactly what I wanted.

Almost five hours later…..
The final result - glossy, vibrant, LONG hair.

John Sahag Workshop costs a pretty penny, but if my results are any indication, it is worth it…..especially if you’re like me and “forget” to get regular haircuts.
Thank you so much to John Sahag Workshop for providing the treatments.
