October 2011
Last weekend included a quick Washington, DC trip to visit college friends, admire Autumn foliage, sift through antiques at Old Lucketts Store and visit Tarara Winery in Leesburg, Virgina.

Last night I stopped by the brand, spanking new C.Wonder, a Soho boutique of my dreams.
No, really.
C.Wonder sells clothing, accessories, shoes and home decor and the aesthetic is part Kate Spade, J.Crew + Tory Burch. In fact, Tory’s ex-husband, Chris Burch, is the brainchild behind the colorful store, where most items are wallet friendly (minus the Vespa…)
The shop is separated into unique rooms, each with its own inspired flair, including Vail Cabin, Hollywood Regency, English Townhouse, American Dream and Palm Spring Cabana. Did I mention their monogram station where you can engrave or embroider almost anything?
Word on the street is that stores will be rolling out in other cities soon.
It’s timeless, whimsical, chic + a bit preppy.
My dream come true.

In celebration of today’s perfect Autumn weather, Erin and I took a bike ride all over Central Park.
While Erin cruised around on my year old Forge, I gave my new Schwinn Legacy bike a twirl (courtesy of Schwinn).
It’s a weird feeling to change from riding one bike to another, particularly adjusting to the change in brakes and gears. Fortunately, after the initial shock, the rest of the ride was a breeze. Also, the Schwinn Legacy seat is so big and comfortable - it’s like sitting on a sofa while riding.

While the southern part of the Central Park loop is the easiest part of the ride (i.e. downhill), it’s the northern portion that I find most beautiful. Case in the point, the Central Park Conservatory Garden at 105th Street and 5th Avenue, featuring three varieties of manicured lawns: French, Italian and English.

The leaves were in the early stages of changing today. I bet next week will be prime time foliage watching.
