Greetings from Amelia Island
I’m in Amelia Island, one of the southernmost Sea Islands, to rest, relax and attend a lovely wedding.
Traveling here was tricky, which is not surprising considering my unlucky travel issues, but we made it to the resort and everything is even more wonderful than I imagined.
After a spirited tennis match, Joel and I soaked up the warm rays poolside and enjoyed one too many Firefly Vodka...

SJP NYC SATC Premiere
Did yo know I like my job? For two years, I was kind of meh about my daily 9-6 and love that for the last 8 months, I actually get excited to go to work. I attend cool things like this and this and last night, my client hosted a Sex and the City 2 premiere for online media.
Magnolias cupcakes? Check.
Aromatic fragrances? Check.
Tons of influential online media dressed to impress? Check.

Loconda Verde - Above and Beyond
A couple weeks ago, some coworkers and I were discussing Loconda Verde, Robert Di Nero’s one year old Italian hot spot in Tribeca. Fortunately, one of my colleagues is chummy with the manager who could squeeze us in since they were fully booked for the month ahead…that is unless we wanted to eat at 5:30 during the early bird special. Although my weekly reservation schedule tends to...

A Top Chef Dinner
I had friends visiting this past weekend who read CaseyCulture and had high expectations for a top notch dinner. I chose Perilla, the West Village restaurant of Top Chef Season 2 winner, Harold Dieterle. Ranked by Zagat as one of the top American cuisine restaurants in the city, Perilla certainly delivered. The simple, casual atmosphere was a juxtaposition to the intricate, highly developed...

Belgium in New York - #1 Grilled Cheese
I met a friend for brunch on Saturday at Resto, an under-the-radar Belgian restaurant in Murray Hill. Known for their super moist Burger topped with a Fried Egg, which I’ve had and loved, I instead opted for their Grilled Cheese with Vermont Cheddar, Gruyere and Bacon.
This was hands down the best Grilled Cheese I’ve ever had. Easily.
The bread was buttery and crisp. The cheese...

Good Indian, But No Tamarind
Last week I dined in Curry Hill at Dhaba. I personally prefer Tamarind to every other Indian joint in the city, but Dhaba is an acceptable alternative. It’s a packed scene, more affordable than Tamarind and their Chicken Tikka Masala is quite good. Not necessarily a must-try, but if you want some inexpensive Indian, give it a go.

Classic Food Done Classically Well - Landmarc
Over the weekend, I took my out-of-town guests to Landmarc. Seeing as these guests prefer meat and potatoes rather than Foie Gras emulsion, I knew I had to pick a place that served up some classic plates. But Landmarc has proven time and time again that classic, simple food in no way means sub-par.
Landmarc is great for big groups and there’s something for everyone as their menu is...

Cozy Barcibo
My father still talks about the time he visited me in Paris as one of his favorite memories. His favorite part? Dining al fresco at cozy cafes watching Parisians stroll by. With this in mind, I planned on Friday night New York dinner at Barcibo Enoteca. As the sister restaurant to UWS favorite, Bin 71, Barcibo exudes the same cozy Italian wine bar charm, but with a far less wait. Although I...

Spring Family Visit
I had not one, not two, but four family members in town visiting this past weekend: Dad, step-mom, sister and brother-in-law. What’d we do? Walk, talk, eat and drink.
Beyond everything else, we walked through all the nooks and crannies of Central Park.
Dined at a handful of soon-to-be reviewed restaurants.
And enjoyed low-key drinks at Dive 75.

Gourmet Mecca - Per Se
15 courses + almost 4 hours + several wine pairings + kitchen tour = one helluva dining experience.
I could go on for days about the extraordinary details, warm service, impeccable presentation, synchronized performance and perfect food, but I don’t think I’d ever do Per Se justice. I’ve dined at most of New York’s other top restaurants, but Per Se truly is a special,...

New York foodies - it’s finally time to get a behind-the-scenes look at mega-restaurateur Danny Meyer documentary, “The Restaurateur.”
The intimate film about Danny Meyer, one of America’s preeminent restaurant owners, takes a look at the simultaneous 1998 openings of his restaurants Tabla and Eleven Madison Park and asks the simple yet complex question: How does Danny Meyer do...
